Every year we host our annual golf tournament in May. Each year we like to highlight one aspect of SuNica that we are currently raising funds for. This year our golf tournament proceeds went straight towards the Los Ranchos water project! Because of this we decided to add in a “water bucket challenge”.
Our golf tournament participants enjoyed a fun little challenge of carrying five-gallon water buckets across the green at hole #10. Just a glimpse into the day-to-day of our friends in Nicaragua.
Many rural Nicaraguans carry water up to one kilometer to provide for their family each day. Not an easy task for a basic necessity, and something we so often take for granted here in the U.S.!
