Welcome to the Sacred Forest
The Sacred Forest (El Bosque Sagrado) is our discipleship haven nestled in the glorious rainforest of Nicaragua. Here, students encounter the beauty of God’s creation, learn about agriculture and nature, go deeper in their relationships with their mentors and peers, and, most importantly, spend intentional time in prayer and with one another.
This Sacred Season we’re asking YOU to help us sustain and grow the discipleship work that takes place in the Sacred Forest. Are you in?

Thanks to you, we raised money to support even more kids during our recent THRIVE campaign. That means in 2023, we’re seeking to send 180 students on life-changing trips to the Sacred Forest!

RECONCILIATION IN THE FOREST
Magaly & Nathalia
Magaly and Nathalia are both part of our pre-leadership program in San Carlos. They also happen to be cousins and neighbors. Unfortunately, before going on their Sacred Forest retreat, they did not have a strong relationship due to family disagreements. It turns out time away in the Sacred Forest is just what they needed.

During their time in the Forest they spent uninterrupted, quality time together tackling the low ropes course. This experience bonded them and proved to be a pivotal point in their relationship.
On the final day of their retreat, their leader Esmirna prompted a time for reflection. Both Magaly and Nathalia mentioned how special the week had been. Even they were surprised by how united they felt! They were not naive to the fact that it would be a challenge for them to go home and continue to grow their relationship. But, they are committed to enter back into their communities as lights for Jesus and as a visual representation of redemption and reconciliation.
This is exactly what the Sacred Forest is designed to do – break down walls between peers, leaders, and especially between ourselves and the Lord. This Sacred Season, we’re inviting you to be part of it.
Spread the word.
